ACTORS from TV soaps will be in St Helens for a charity football match involving the foundation set up by war veteran Andy Reid.
Ruskin sports ground will play host to the match, involving actors from soaps such as Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks, on Sunday afternoon.
The TV celebrities will face a team representing the Standing Tall Foundation, which was set up by Andy Reid.
Those playing include Jay Kontzle, Nick Pickard, Oscar Curtis, Jacob Roberts, Matthew James Baily, Charlie Behan, Chris Perry Metcalfe, and Alex Lawler.
Also present will be the chief executive of holiday firm Jet2 Steve Heapy. Jet 2 is sponsoring the event along with Morson Group.
Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for children.
A ticket includes a chance to win two plane tickets anywhere in Europe with Jet 2.
St Helens' Andy Reid, who was left a triple amputee after an IED blast in Afghanistan in 2009, said: "Our veterans team is made up of ex-forces veterans and civilians.
"The veterans get to feel a part of a team again and have camaraderie and a sense of belonging.
"They also get to networking with civilians about possible job opportunities and integrate into the civilian community."
