A 28-YEAR-OLD man, from St Helens, has been charged with murder following his extradition from Spain.
Ian Fitzgibbon is accused of murdering 28-year-old Knowsley Council worker Ashley Dale in Old Swan, Liverpool.
In a statement, Merseyside Police said Fitzgibbon had been extradited, with the support of the NCA’s National Extradition Unit, from Spain this afternoon (Thursday, August 24) on a Trade and Co-operation agreement.
It follows his arrest by the Spanish National Police.
Fitzgibbon has been charged with the murder of Ashley Dale on August 21, 2022 and conspiracy to murder Lee Harrison.
He is also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, namely a Skorpion sub machine gun pistol and associated ammunition with intent to endanger life, and conspiracy to possess a prohibited weapon namely a Skorpion sub machine gun and associated ammunition.
He will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court tomorrow (Friday, August 25).
