ST Helens Food Bank has put out an appeal for more food donations to feed those otherwise going hungry in our town.

With the current cost-of-living crisis, many more are turning to food banks to feed themselves and their families.

One of the places they are turning to is St Helens Food Bank.

However in a recent appeal put out to donators, the food bank said: “We are really struggling at the moment for all the food supplies. All our hubs are virtually empty and we are buying most of our food.

“So we are more than grateful for anything you can donate.”

The list of items they need, which they described as ‘desperate’ are: • Milk • Cereal • Coffee (small) • Sugar • Juice • Sauce in jars • Soup • Packet Pasta in Sauce • Microwave Rice • Tinned Fish • Tinned Meat • Tinned Tomatoes • Tinned Fruit • Tinned Vegetables • Custard • Rice Pudding • Instant Mash • Biscuits, Snacks • Long Grain Rice • Toiletries.

Those wanting to donate these items can drop them off at the following places: Tesco Extra on St Helens Linkway, Asda on Kirkland Street, Dentons Green Post Office, The Hope Centre, Sainsburys in Eccleston, Newton Family Community Centre, Any St Helens Library or Whistles Tea Room.
