You and your BFFs celebrating National Best Friends Day

Yesterday, Thursday, was National Best Friends Day and to celebrate we asked you to share photos of you and your closest friends.

There were some fantastic stories featuring rescue attempts from bunk beds, meeting on maternity wards and calling their daughters by the same name and matching on a dating app.

Mandy said: “We met on 16 July 2017, on the A41 roundabout, on our way to attend the Female Biker Meet at Lynn's Raven Cafe in Shropshire, with 1,132 ladies in attendance.

“We broke the world record previously held by Australia.”

Gemma said: “I looked after her little girl in nursery and we became best friends. It’s been seven years now and I can’t imagine life without her and her family.”

Pam said: “We’ve been best friends since we were four at nursery, when we used to fight and push each other off the bunk beds at naptime!”

“She’s always been like my right arm and we’ve always been there for each other.

“We’ve known each other since we were babes in arms.

“We’re now 49 and still friends forever.”

Janet said: “I met my bestie 27 years ago when we had both given birth at Whiston Hospital.

“We just said hello from opposite sides of the ward.

“Then three years later we met again when our girls started nursery and we discovered we’d both named our daughters Emma.

“We have been besties ever since and our husbands are best friends too.

“We’re all one big family.”

Val said: “We have known each other since we were 11 years old and we met at secondary school – Robins Lane in 1970.

“We are still best friends and now 64.

“She rescued me off the bunk bed in Thatto Heath Nursery – I was scared of heights!

“She’s been stuck with me ever since.”

“We were raised together and we’re still growing together.

“It helps that we’re cousins.

“She’s my rock.”

Phoenix said: “It was 2006 and my first year at college and I wandered into a Christmas party in one of the art rooms.

“People were singing karaoke so I started to ask around and see if anyone would sing my favourite song with me but nobody knew it.

“Eventually I yelled ‘Will nobody sing Poison by Alice Copper with me?’ and across the room a hand flew and a voice hollered ‘I will!’

“That’s how I met my BFF – 17 years and counting!”
