THE funeral will take place today of a “selfless man” who was known for producing much-loved St Helens-themed music videos and fundraising.

Keith Grimes, a popular figure in the town, died last month. He had suffered from heart problems.

His funeral service will take place at Greenacres in Rainford on Friday, with the service starting at 1.30pm.

Over the years the Star had featured stories about the delivery driver, managing director at Sutton-based KG Express, who shared amusing music videos which featured him and other staff members singing.

It led to some dubbing him the "Singing Saint".

Keith was also renowned for getting involved in fundraising and was a staunch supporter of the appeal for treatment of Kaycee Bradshaw, from Sutton, who has the neurological condition Batten Disease.

He was a driving force behind a song, Fairy Tale of St Helens, written specially for Kaycee, which was performed at a Christmas Lights switch-on and he organised many events.

Keith was also well-known across the local boxing and rugby league community, having played for amateur teams Haresfinch and Pilkington Recs, where he was a popular character.

Tributes to Keith flooded social media with many referencing his “sense of humour” and fundraising efforts.

Singer and former X Factor contestant Kiera Weathers also paid tribute, saying “if you knew Keith you know how much of a selfless man he really was.. always doing whatever he could to help others”.

Claire Bradshaw, mum of Kaycee, shared a touching message following Keith’s passing, saying he “will be so be missed by the whole of St Helens”, calling him “a legend/our legend”.
