A BALLOON, gifts, and sweets shop in Newton-le-Willows is celebrating its first anniversary today.
Jasmine’s on Newton High Street, formerly known as Humbugs, was taken over by the Agger family last year, with the family-run shop now celebrating one year under its new name and management.
The shop has since introduced new items and has launched its own brand of fudge.
Discussing the milestone, Carla, owner of the shop, said: "It’s great; it’s been a rollercoaster and we’ve changed a lot in the shop. We’ve come a long way in a year.
"It’s had an amazing response; I have regular customers come in now and I’ve got to know so many local people and other businesses as well and they support me.
"It’s finding out what people want; I think that’s what’s been one of the things this year, but lots of people give great feedback.
"Thank you to everyone involved and for those who come in and support me, and thank you to my family and Rachel."
Alongside catering for those with a sweet tooth, the shop also supplies balloons, gifts, and cards for a range of occasions.
