A MAN has been arrested following a police chase in St Helens this afternoon.
A black Land Range Rover was spotted by police officers at around 1.50pm on Thursday, May 25, which was believed to be carrying Class A drugs.
A police chase ensued after the car was spotted on the M62 around Newton-le-Willows.
The pursuit led the vehicles to St Helens Linkway, where it is alleged that the Range Rover "rammed into a police vehicle".
The car was then stopped by police on the Linkway, which caused disruption to other motorists.

A 40-year-old man from Liverpool has since been arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle dangerously, failing to stop a vehicle when required and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
He was taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning.
No injuries have been reported to police at present.
