A REVAMPED festival that showcases the best of St Helens will return to the town centre after a four-year hiatus.
Starting out in 2014, Westfield Street Music Festival had been a roaring success since its inception as thousands descended on the town centre each year to soak up the sunshine and live entertainment.
With music across multiple stages and dancers parading down Westfield Street, the festivals brought the community together and were a huge boost for businesses that benefitted from the extra custom.

Attracting Sintelliners and out-of-towners for the occasion, the festival has hosted established acts such as the Charlatan's frontman Tim Burgess for a DJ set, while also providing a platform for many local acts to play on stages in their hometown.
However, after being interrupted by the pandemic there hasn't been a festival in its usual format for four years - although there was a Virtual Westfield Street Music Festival back in 2020 which live streamed performances.
So after a four-year hiatus, a new and revamped festival will return to the town centre on Sunday, June 11, with a slight change to the Westfield Street name and now being known as St Helens Music Festival.
With numerous venues participating, the festival will stretch across the town centre with live music and entertainment across the day.
Hosting venues will include The Citadel Theatre, Imperial Quarter and Imperial nightclub where a range of singers, bands, and DJs will be performing.
A particular highlight is expected for the return of St Helens band The Loungs, who will perform at the Citadel a year after their last gig together.
The theatre will also host local four-piece Polker, who had been shortlisted for 'Rising Act of the Year' at a regional awards ceremony, as well as St Helens duo The Bathtub Gin Band.
Further acts and venues are yet to be confirmed.
