WHEN Kirsty Hackers launched her beauty business nine years ago, little did she know how many of her clients would become lifelong friends.

And she could never have predicted that they’d vote for her to win St Helens’ Best for Nails 2023.

But that’s exactly what they’ve done with Kreative Kirsty Beauty Therapy officially the place to go if you want picture-perfect nails.

Each week, we will be searching for the best St Helens has to offer in different categories.

Kirsty works mainly from her salon at her home in Sutton having opened the business in 2014.

Originally from Sunderland, the mum-of-one moved to the north west when her son James was just six months old and, following the breakdown of her marriage, she decided to retrain in beauty therapy.

Kirsty said: “I’m bilingual and have a BA Hons degree in German with education training.

“My son James has autism so I knew he wouldn’t be able to cope with a childminder if I used my degree, so I decided to retrain in the beauty industry and be self-employed.

“Being a single mum to a child with autism and being self-employed isn’t an easy challenge but it was one I was willing to accept.

“The people of St Helens have always been truly lovely and very welcoming to us.

“My family live 170 miles away so my beauty clients have become like family to us.

’My motto is that I treat everyone as if they were part of my family.”

She is now a beautician and holistic therapist doing nails, facials, lashes and makeup as well as waxing, spray tans and tinting.

She also does different types of massage and ear candling and even hosts princess pamper clients for youngsters to enjoy the treatments.

Kirsty said: “Each day is different in my job which keeps it fun and exciting.

“I’m always laughing and giggling with my clients.

“The difference between my business and others is that I like to a welcoming, friendly environment.

“In the salon I like to make the client feel like they’re the most important person and that I value not only their custom but their time and friendship too.

“I have an appointment only system so that I am one on one with each client so that they enjoy their time in the salon and they leave happy.”
