AFTER months of training, hard work and determination, Stephanie Savage has completed the London Marathon!
The 40-year-old, who works for an engineering and architecture firm in Daresbury, joined thousands of others in the capital on Sunday morning to attempt the iconic 26.2-mile course.
And she did it!
Stephanie, who lives in Sutton Heath, managed to log a time of four hours and 50 minutes having completed half marathons and metric marathons in the past.
Stephanie, who works for an engineering and architecture firm in Daresbury, said: “I can’t believe I’ve joined the one per cent club – it will sink in sometime this week.
“26.2 miles is such a long way.
“Hats off to anyone does it with a washing machine on their back – yes, someone actually did!
“I’m concentrating on getting my legs working again and I can’t stop eating!”
Stephanie, who started training for the marathon in January, took up running in 2016 as a member of a club in Rainhill and then joined Widnes Running Club in 2018.
She ran the London Marathon to raise money for Huntington’s Disease Association and her total currently stands at £1,838.

It was during the last three miles of the race on Sunday that Stephanie really felt the support of the crowds as she ran past Big Ben towards Buckingham Palace and onto the finish line.
Stephanie added: “The crowds are insane from start to finish.
“What’s going to top this feeling now?
“I was exhausted when I crossed the finish line and was so pleased to see my partner Kevin who treated me to a coffee and then a gin!”
