St Helens artist holds exhibition displaying the 'magic' within nature

Elizabeth Grima, from St Helens, is a painter whose paintings are inspired by the nature surrounding the area, particularly Victoria Park.

The exhibition, called ‘Through the Branches’, will see her work on display, with Elizabeth certain that many locals will recognise some of the locations in the paintings.

Elizabeth, 57, said: "We all enjoy going out in nature, so I’m hoping that the feel-good factor will be there for everybody.

"For me, when I go out amongst the trees and in the parks, there’s that much magic to them, and when the light hits them, it’s absolutely awesome.

"Painting is like meditating and I just want to share that with the people of St Helens.

"I know they will recognise a lot of the places as they are going to be in and around St Helens, particularly Victoria Park."

Elizabeth has had a passion for painting for most of her life and has displayed some of her work in other exhibitions, each receiving a positive response from attendees.

The artist added: "I always have very positive responses and we get a lot of feedback, which is great."

The exhibition is a free event and will be ready to view at the Millennium Centre from midday on Saturday, April 29, until midday on Friday, June 23.

All artwork is family-friendly and will be displayed in and around Café Millais, on the ground floor of the Millennium Centre, and continues on the first floor.
