A MUM-OF-TWO who started her business on TikTok amassing 71,000 followers, has now launched her own sweet shop in the former Two Brothers store.

Bethany Greaves, from Windle, set up her TikTok page in 2019 after struggling with her mental health.

She found it a good place to share her feelings in a bid to help herself and others.

After her husband Timothy came up with the idea of launching a sweet business, she discussed the matter on the platform, with thousands tuning in to live events seeing the pair make up pick-n-mix.

Bethany, 23, said: “It just took off really, we only started doing the sweets in December 2022 and it got really big really fast, we set up a website for people to order and we were sending out 200-300 packages a week to people across the UK.

“Then we branched out but we needed a base, so when we saw this shop empty we felt it was perfect.”

The Globe building which housed Galloways for years before they relocated to Bridge Street, most recently housed Two Brothers Coffee Shop.

However, following the closure of the shop in October last year, there has been fierce debate over what should happen with the empty store front.

Shoppers were therefore pleased when signage suddenly went up on the building with GreavesysTuckShop written on it and old fashioned jars of sweets appearing in the windows.

Bethany said: “We’d had 4,000 orders in three months, we needed somewhere to base everything and we are hoping once students come back it will be even busier.

“This has been amazing for me and my family, what started as an idea has led to us having a shop in the town centre. It feels like a dream.”

Greavesys Tuck Shop is open 9.30pm to 5.30pm, seven days a week.
