WITH Easter next week, families search for the ideal event to take their young ones to during the school holidays.

Businesses, charities, and community groups in Newton-le-Willows are organising Easter-themed events, with several others also taking place across the borough.

Here are three events happening in Newton-le-Willows over Easter:

Easter Egg Trail

This much-loved event organised by Newton High Street businesses is returning this year following a successful debut last year.

The Hive, a committee of businesses on the high street, is bringing back the trail, promised to be bigger and better.

The Easter Egg Trail is returning to Newton High Street from 10am on Friday, April 7, until 4pm on Saturday, April 8.

Entry forms are £2 and can be bought from Jasmine's Sweet, Card, and Balloon shop on the High Street.

Easter Eggspedition

This annual event is taking place over the Easter weekend.

The event, organised by Newton and Earlestown Community Group, will welcome families to Mesnes Park Rangers’ Centre.

Participants will be able to follow clues around the park to win prizes.

The event takes place on Saturday, April 8, at 2pm.

Easter Play

This Easter event, organised by Business for Youth, will see community actors, musicians, and dancers present a play about being amazing.

Families will also be able to join in as they participate in a new dance for the song written for the play.

Following the play, those attending will be invited back to the BFY site for lunch, before taking part in an Easter egg hunt.

The event takes place at Heald Farm Court on Wednesday, April 5, at 11am.
