THE owner of a women's fitness business is delighted with the success of her first Easter egg appeal.

Becky Martindale from Rainhill took over Bootie Box Fitness nearly three years ago and has used her resources, along with the support of those who attend her classes, to collect donations for several toy appeals.

Following the success of her toy appeal last year, which saw more than 200 toys being donated to the Salvation Army in Prescot, Becky set up her first Easter egg appeal.

Becky, 34, said: "This is the first time with the Easter eggs but we’ve done toy appeals.

"Last year, we got 293 toys for the Salvation Army and the year before we got over 100.

"We were all made up; it’s all from my bootcamp ladies as well.

"Since I’ve had my little boy, I feel like I’ve got to help because there are so many children that are suffering and missing out at the minute.

"For some people, Easter eggs might be nothing, but for kids who haven’t got anything, it’s so much, and knowing that some kids are going to wake up with an Easter egg, same as the toys, makes my heart melt."

The Easter eggs collected from the appeal will be donated to the Salvation Army in Prescot.

The fitness instructor and personal trainer also detailed that women attend her classes for their mental health as well as their physical well-being, with the "community" of participants also joining social activities outside of classes.

The mum-of-one added: "We are a great community; it’s not just a fitness class.

"We always do loads of days out and I have ladies coming to me, the majority of the time, for their mental health; definitely more so since Covid hit, but it’s lovely."
