A MUM has shared her joy of seeing two boys play with her daughter who has autism.
Lesley Jackson took her daughter Grace to a play centre in Newton-le-Willows, where two young boys approached Grace.
Four-year-old Grace is non-verbal and has difficulty making friends due to a lack of social skills.
Despite this, the two youngsters joined Grace in the Willowbees Adventure play area and helped her down the big slide.
Lesley, a receptionist, said: "Seeing these two older boys show such warmth, compassion, and patience with Grace filled my heart with so much joy and hope for her future; it is such a rarity.
"Usually in situations where the children present at play centres, for example, are older or not on the same pathway as Grace, she is ignored, left out, and pushed past; left to play alone or with myself.
"Being non-verbal, lacking social skills, and the ability to understand social cues, she struggles to make friends or interact with her peers.
"These two young men don't understand how much their kindness really meant to me and Grace.
"To see her actually playing and smiling with other kids was nothing short of amazing.
"It gives me faith that Autism awareness is on the rise which is just fantastic."
