A MOTORIST put lives at risk following a high-speed police chase on the motorway last night, Wednesday.
It was initiated after a grey Audi S3 sped past an unmarked police car on the M62.
Officers from Cheshire Police’s Roads and Crime Unit engaged in a pursuit with the vehicle, which reached speeds above 140mph – double the speed limit.

The Audi was later found abandoned off the motorway after officers lost sight of it due to the reckless speed it was travelling at.
The Roads and crime unit said: “The driver of this S3 overtook one of our unmarked cars on the M62 and then proceeded to drive in excess of 140mph.
“Although we lost sight of it while it drove away at speed the last time we saw it, it was on the back of our recovery truck after being located abandoned.”
