TWO business partners from Newton-le-Willows offered space at their restaurant to those struggling with their mental health.

Abdul Rouf and his Good Burgers co-founder Mohammed Miah organised an event at Amans Restaurant on Newton High Street yesterday, Monday, March 13, for people dealing with mental health issues to socialise and enjoy a meal out.

The function was a success, as the duo teamed up with Hope House Centre to invite a group of people to the Indian restaurant.

Aman’s owner Rouf said: "Everyone that came in was really happy about it and would love to do it again.

"It was really emotional and I’m glad we did that now. It was a success; I didn’t know how it was going to turn out but it turned out really well.

"I had my little son with us as well and he was helping give out boxes."

A box of toiletries was also provided to those who attended.

The vision to offer the restaurant space had been in the making for a while, with the business partners already looking to host a similar event soon.

Rouf added: "We have always set out to help our community and we hope to do this more frequently.

"Thank you again for all the support as without you all, we wouldn’t have been where we are; you are all the reason why we can hold these nights and help out our community.

"Also, a big thank you to our volunteers who have given us a hand with everything."
