A PUB is organising a fundraiser to buy a defibrillator after a customer collapsed at the premises.
The York pub in Thatto Heath is set to host the event next week to raise money for the life-saving machine following a customer collapse.
Although the customer did not require the equipment, the incident led the family-run business to feel a defibrillator was needed at the premises.

Natalie Gallagher, daughter of landlady Norma, said: "We had somebody collapse about a month ago, and he didn’t require one, but it just made me and my boyfriend think if we had needed one we genuinely wouldn’t know where the nearest one is; I think it’s the train station.
"Our clientele is mainly 50 plus, so we thought it would be wise to have one and have it outside so if anyone in the community needed it as well they can.
"We’ve got our regular singer coming in and we’re also going to do a few raffles, but it should be a good night; there’s been loads of interest.”
The event will see local singer Kerrie Ann Lomas perform, with the money raised from the evening going towards a defibrillator.
The fundraiser will take place at The York pub on Saturday, March 18, at 7pm.
