Chef cooks up 'something different' with American-style Hotbox

After ten years of experience working in the food industry, Matty Crampton, from Widnes, decided to take a different turn in his career and open his own takeaway business.

Always having the goal to open his own food business, Matty launched Hotbox, an American-style fresh food takeaway on Longton Lane, Rainhill, last October.

With speciality burgers, wraps, wings, noodle boxes, and loaded fries on the menu, Matty has been working hard to build a loyal clientele in Rainhill and the surrounding areas.

Matty, 26, said: "I’ve always been a chef since leaving school and college [and] have worked in a range of different places and loved learning new things.

"I decided to open Hotbox as it’s always been a goal of mine and I felt it was the right time to push myself further to achieve more in life.

"When I saw that the building was up for sale, everything seemed to fall into place so I knew it was the right decision.

"I saw it as an opportunity to bring something different to Rainhill that people in the community haven’t had before."

Offering customers "home-cooked food that is fresh and full of flavour", Matty sees the takeaway business as the perfect and affordable alternative to going out for a meal.

Available for deliveries, collections and walk-ins, the young chef said that custom has been better than expected in its first five months of Hotbox.

Matty added: "The business' feedback has been really good and everything has gone ten times better and busier than I could have ever expected."
