A NEW coffee shop has opened in Newton-le-Willows.

Fika, a Scandinavian term for a coffee break with friends, opened on Walmsley Street, just off Newton High Street, this morning, Wednesday, March 1.

The cafe and home shop is an expansion of Willows Womenswear and Home, based on the high street, with Debbie Makin, owner of the business, announcing the brand had opened a new store.

"We have combined our Homeware and chose the name Fika as it means taking time out to have coffee and cake with friends.

"We hope that our customers will enjoy coming and having a shop here and at Willows making the High street a real destination.
