A MAN is aiming to bring the joys of his childhood to people's doorsteps with his unique new venture.

Jordan Edwards, from Haydock, used to work as a football coach in America but never found the right fit in work once he returned home.

Enjoying speaking to people and putting smiles on their faces, Jordan decided to take on a new venture that combined this while reviving one of his childhood joys.

Covering the communities of Moss Bank, Billinge, and Garswood, Jordan has launched a one-man ice cream van called 'JJ's Ices'.

Jordan, 26, said: "I've always wanted to start my own business and do something for myself.

"I used to love getting ice cream and having that experience, so I wanted to bring this experience and joy to people in Moss Bank, Billinge, and Garswood."

Since starting the business last week, Jordan said he has been showered with "amazing" feedback from those he has visited and tasted his selection of icy products.

His first week on the job saw the ice cream man touring his new route and going to as many streets as possible in his jingle-friendly van.

Aiming to get his new business' name out before the spring and summer, the Haydock resident is looking forward to the longer, busier, and warmer nights where he can get out to more areas in St Helens.

Jordan added: "The feedback has been amazing in the last week or so and people have been so nice, especially in places where they haven't had an ice cream van for years.

"There isn't too much variety in the local shops in these areas, so I thought it was a good place to bring the van to them.

"I want to bring that joy and experience that I felt to people's doorsteps [...] and if I can put smiles on some people's faces then that is good enough for me."
