SADDENED readers have reacted to the news that independent boutique store Ellamora is set to close its doors due to cost-of-living crisis.

Yesterday, the Star reported that the Rainford based store, which sold clothing and gifts, will stop trading at the end of the month.

The store on Church Road in Rainford village had opened in 2016 and in a statement, owner Ali Tyrer, the owner, said recent trading had proved really challenging.

“I am sorry to say that I have made the difficult decision to close Ellamora, something not easy at all to do.

“I have loved being part of the Rainford community for the last 6 and a half years, attracting visitors to ours and other local businesses and making a difference where we can.ted on Instagram (Image: Instagram) “It has been a privilege to have looked after so many lovely customers both in the shop and through our website - many have become friends and I have been grateful for your loyalty and support over the years.”

Ali, who ran the former Tyrers store in St Helens, added: “Like most small businesses we've found trading really challenging, especially recently and it is likely to continue for some time yet - now feels like the right time to stop, start a new chapter and enjoy some precious family time.

“We will remain open until the end of the month to bring business to a close and it would be lovely of course to see you before then.”
