A MAN has been charged in connection with a knifepoint robbery at a convenience store.
As the Star reported, a man allegedly entered McColl's on Higher Parr Street, Fingerpost with a knife at around 5.45pm on Sunday, January 29.
Police say the man demanded money from staff and made off with a quantity of money.
No one was injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, in another incident earlier on Sunday, January 29, officers received a report that Whittakers Schoolwear on Bridge Street, in St Helens town centre, had been broken into and money was stolen.

Also, at around 8.50pm that evening, a man broke into a house on Cooper Street and left the property after being confronted by the occupants.
No injuries were reported.
Wayne Anthony Jones, of Furness Avenue, Windlehurst, has been charged with robbery, possession of a weapon in a public place, burglary and theft from a shop.
Jones, 29, will appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court today, Tuesday, January 31.
