SIX venues - from a pub, to a café under new ownership and fast food takeaways - have been given a five-star food hygiene rating in November and December 2022.

The rankings, which are listed on the Food Standards Agency’s website, stated that the following had received the top ratings.

  • The All-American Diner on Jackson Street
  • Hearty Cook House in Newton-le-Willows
  • KG’s Street Kitchen on Pocket Nook Street
  • Manor Farm pub in Rainhill
  • Robin’s Café on Extension View in Sutton
  • Whistle’s Tearoom in Eccleston

This means they got the best results in cleanliness and food preparation by inspectors.
