A NEW diner in Newton-le-Willows is set to open next week.

Chris Jackson and Claire Maguire, owners of Shakey J’s Family Dining and Shakey J’s takeaway, have revealed that the restaurant on Newton High Street will officially open its doors on Monday, January 9.

The former Chouxchouxbedoo café premises, which closed in October, has had a complete makeover and is ready to trade.

Discussing the diner’s opening, Claire said: "The interest has been immense, and we are so excited to get started.

"It is really exciting for us as a family. We’ve wanted to expand for a long a time with an emphasis on family friendly dining; we know how difficult it can be to eat out with kids in town.

"So, we have tried to redesign the shop the best we can to accommodate families of all ages. It’s really important to us that everybody feels welcome; we want your grandma to feel as comfortable as your toddler."

Chris added: "We’re really excited. Having been here six years, we’ve seen the kids grow up around here and their families, but when we deliver to those people it’s only a 10 second exchange, so now it will be nice to see people come in and enjoy the food.

"It will make the whole experience of going out for a meal with young kids a lot more enjoyable for the kids."
