LABOUR has won the Moss Bank by-election for the council seat following a narrow contest.
The seat is a hold for Labour, who held off the challenge of the Lib Dems to win by 85 votes.
Turn-out was low with less than 16 per cent voting.
RESULT: Moss Bank Ward by-election

Jeanette Banks (LAB) wins, 656 votes.
David Kent (LIB DEM) 571 votes.
Samantha Peet (CON) 78 votes.
Turnout: 15.71%
The ward went to the polls after ward councillor Iyesha Begum resigned from her position.
A Labour Group spokesperson confirmed she had stepped down due to a change in her personal circumstances.
