THE owners of Chouxchouxbedoo are saying farewell to their customers as they set on a new venture.

The café on Newton-le-Willows High Street has been sold and will see new owners greeted into the community.

The new business remains unannounced, however, the Star is told that "something new and exciting is coming onto the high street".

Alexis Jenner took over the business nearly four years ago and despite the business being well, herself and her business partner Suzanne Brown, current manager, have decided that it was "time to pass on what is a good business."

Alexis said: "It’s been really emotional; it is hard because the business is doing well and it’s very popular, but it’s the right time personally for both of us to move on and do something else.

"We’ve been overwhelmed by everybody saying 'we’re going to miss you, what are we going to do without your lemon drizzles and poached eggs?'

"You do realise how people aren’t just customers anymore; a lot of them have become friends – it really has been emotional.

"We’ve had a super team throughout the three years we’ve been here."

Residents in Newton have expressed their sadness towards farewelling Chouxchouxbedoo, with many thanking the business for its support during the pandemic.

Alexis took over the business a year before Covid-19 and during lockdown, she and her team delivered cakes, afternoon teas, and other takeaways in the community.

Regulars of Chouxchouxbedoo will also miss the team, including nine-year-old Sophie, who likes to claim she has been in the café almost "all her life."

The cafe's last day will be this Thursday before Alexis and her team start a new chapter.
