RAINFORD Cricket Club celebrated their highly successful season in grand style at the Totally Wicked Stadium, when skipper John Dotters received the Liverpool Competition Division 1 trophy from League Secretary Chris Weston.
This signals the club's return to the ECB Premier Division after an absence of four years.
Mark Brook's 2nd X1 matched their first team colleagues with promotion to the the 2nd X1 Premier Division and the U18s were joint winners of their League, in a season hailed by Chairman Phil Curran as " truly outstanding".
He thanked everyone at the club, sponsors Rigby Financial, Golden Lion and Hawk Alarms, and the people of Rainford, particularly during the Village Cup run, for their strong support throughout the season and pointed to the successful All Stars Programme (5 to 8 year olds) and the development of the Ladies Team, now in their second season, as other highlights of the season.
