MARK Percival may have been bloodied from a cut eye by the end of Saturday’s bruising semi-final but other than that he came through his first game in 17 weeks with no ill effects.

Coach Kristian Woolf praised the impact he had on the game and says he will be better for that run out when takes his place in the Grand Final side.

He also said that Matty Lees had recovered from the bang on the knee that saw him leave the game on Saturday - and that Will Hopoate has a chance of featuring as Saints seek to shuffle the team to fill the void created by suspended Morgan Knowles.

Woolf said: "Mark Percival was outstanding against Salford – and it was only after watching the video that I realised how significant an influence he had, especially considering he has been out for 17 weeks.

"He threw himself in and made an impact – and that is what we knew he would do but it still deserves a lot of credit.

"He will be better for the run and little bit more match-hardened and more confident on the impact he could make this week.

"He has come through really well."

There is also good news on prop Lees, who had an outstanding game against Salford, but limped off with a leg injury late in the game after the collision with Ken Sio.

"Matty Lees took a fair bang on his quad and knee against Salford but he has recovered really well after the swelling," Woolf said.

"He is a very diligent player and has looked after himself and has come in moving well at training and in no doubt whatsoever."

With Knowles suspended, there is a possibility that Sione Mata'utia could move into the pack - either at 13 or coming off the bench to fill that role should James Bell start instead.

In that case - it could leave an opportunity in the back line for Will Hopoate to slot back in if he can prove his fitness.

Woolf said: "There is a strong possibility that Will plays. He has done a lot of the things he needs to do to show he is fit and ready to play.

"He still has a couple of things to do at the back end, but he has a real possibility there.

"There are a lot of things we are going to have to figure out in terms of how we re-shuffle things with Morgan Knowles missing and who are the best guys to make sure we fill that hole but I am very confident that we are going to be able to do that."
