POLICE say they have had recent reports of criminal damage and anti-social behaviour in Prescot town centre and the new Shakespeare North theatre.

Officers said they have had reports of recent incidents in the area.

Police said they have engaged with reisdents and shop managers in the town centre following the incidents.

In a statement on Thursday, officers said: "Following recent reports of criminal damage and anti-social behaviour in Prescot Town Centre and the new Shakespeare Theatre, Local Policing Officers from Huyton have been out and about, engaging with shop managers and staff as well as members of the community.

"Please remember CCTV is being monitored 24 hours a day and offenders have and will continue to be identified and dealt with accordingly."

They added: "Merseyside Police will not tolerate any such behaviour and are actively working with Knowsley Council to ensure the town centre is a safe and welcoming place for all to enjoy."
