A BOROUGH councillor has been suspended by the Labour Party.
Cllr Amanda King, who serves the Great Sankey South ward, will now sit as an independent.
However, she has appealed the decision.
Labour has been asked for a comment on the reason for the suspension, and how long the appeal process takes to conclude if someone wishes to appeal.
A Labour spokesperson said the party does not comment on individual complaints but takes all complaints ‘extremely seriously’ and ensures they are ‘fully investigated in line with our rules and procedures’.
The councillor is no longer a member of Labour ‘following an investigation’.
Cllr King, who is now listed as an independent on the borough council website, did not wish to comment.
