THE FIRST homes of a huge housing development in Moss Nook have now gone on sale.

Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey was granted planning permission for the first phase of the development last year, which will see 900 homes, open space, and sports pitches built on the former industrial land off Sutton Road.

The first phase, called Anderton Green, will see the construction of 258 new houses, offering a selection of two, three, and four-bedroom homes.

The 95-acre site, located between Sutton, Parr and Bold, has previously been used as a colliery, a chemical works, a blockworks and a railway line.

The housing developments will form as part of St Helens Council's Local Plan, which sets out a requirement of building more than 10,000 homes across the borough by 2037.

Taylor Wimpey state that the development will focus on good design and placemaking principles, whilst ensuring connectivity to the local area and into St Helens town centre.

Construction has begun on the site, with the first phase of developments expected to be completed early next year.
