SAINTS have recalled second row forward Sam Royle from his loan spell at Hull KR due to the side picking up injuries to Regan Grace and Curtis Sironen in the defeat to Salford at the weekend.

The packman has enjoyed a successful spell at Rovers, playing 70 minutes on debut against Wakefield and scoring in the side's win at Warrington.

The initial two-week spell had been extended until the end of the year - but given Sironen's bicep injury, Sione Mata'utia having to serve the final match of his three-game suspension and Dan Norman's glute injury the Saints pack needed bolstering.

Saints have been without Will Hopoate, Tommy Makinson and Mark Percival in recent weeks and Lewis Dodd is out for the season.

Royle, who skippered a young Saints side at Castleford in April, is expected to be named in Saints 21-man squad ahead of the clash with Castleford Tigers on Sunday (1pm).
