Taylor Wimpey says the site, which is located between Gartons Lane and Sutton Manor, has been allocated for residential development in St Helens Council’s newly-adopted Local Plan, which aims to see the borough deliver 3,725 homes by 2037 to meet the needs of its growing population.

It adds the plans for the site will contribute to housing needs and provide investment and employment opportunities in the community.

Ian Harrison, land and planning director at Taylor Wimpey North West said: “We are delighted to share our vision for the Gartons Lane site and are excited to hear the thoughts of local residents

“We want to deliver a development that will complement the existing local community.

"With a wide range of houses and open space, we believe that the Gartons Lane neighbourhood will not only contribute to the delivery of much-needed new homes, but will create an attractive, sustainable and long-lasting addition to St Helens, with improved walking and cycling routes to Sutton Manor Woodland.

“We invite the local community to find out more about our plans by attending our public exhibition or visiting our website, where they can provide feedback and help us shape our final proposals before a planning application is submitted to St Helens Council."
