A MAN has been arrested following a police chase in Newton le Willows this morning.
At around 11am on Wednesday, July 6, a White Transit Van was spotted by patrols approaching Hewitt Avenue in Newton.
Believing the vehicle was carrying suspected Class A drugs, officers began following the van which then led them on a chase throughout Newton.
After a police pursuit in the area, including down High Street, Crow Lane West and Wargrave Road, two men were detained on Raleigh Close.

A police helicopter was reported to be heard by residents around the time of the chase, as well as a police presence being seen on Wayfarer's Drive.
A 34-year-old man from Seacombe was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and offering to supply a controlled drug.
He remains in custody.
