TOMMY Makinson will miss Saints’ clash with Wigan at Magic on Saturday after coach Kristian Woolf revealed the extent of the injury he picked up on Saturday.
The England wing came off with a tight hamstring midway through the first half in Perpignan and after viewing scan results he will be out for an estimated three-to-five week period.
But in more positive news, Saints expect to have Will Hopoate, Konrad Hurrell and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook back for Magic.
Woolf told the Star: “Tommy has had a scan and he is going to be out for in the vicinity of three to five weeks.
“We are obviously hoping for the shorter and it may end up somewhere in between.
“It is frustrating because we have had a number of injuries in similar positions. From round 6 – 7 we had a cluster of forwards who were out for a spell.
“The cluster at the moment is within the outside backs. It is frustrating as it does mean we are a little bit disjointed each week, chopping and changing.
“We are craving continuity.”
