TWO machetes, two knives and a pick axe have been recovered by officers along with drugs and cash after a raid at a Dentons Green house.

The warrant was executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act and as well as the weapons, a quantity of cannabis and cash were recovered by police from the property on Hillside Avenue.

A 38-year-old man from Dentons Green was arrested and remains in custody for questioning.

In a statement, Community Policing Inspector Jon Smith said: “Thanks to the work of our officers yesterday, dangerous weapons and drugs have now been removed from our streets and can no longer be used to inflict fear and harm in Merseyside.

“We know that drug dealing is a blight on our communities and we will relentlessly pursue those people responsible. No one should profit from such offences while our wider law-abiding communities work hard to earn an honest living and we take action on all reports of drug dealing we receive.

“If you know someone in your area involved in suspected drug dealing please let us know so we can take them off our streets.”
