ARMED Forces Day Parade is returning this year to celebrate servers of the British Armed Forces.

The annual parade on Newton-le-Willows high street will see Local Cadets and Veterans Association attending the march.

The ceremony is organised by Newton and Earlestown Community Group and will take place on Saturday June 25, the official Armed Forces Day.

The parade will start at 11am from the Oak Tree.

The Brass Band will lead the parade down to Willow Park, where there will be an opportunity for parade members and the public to sing the National Anthem.

Below is a video from the previous parade along the high street.

Cllr Seve Gomez-Aspron MBE, president of Newton Veterans Association and Vice Chair of NECG, said: "Armed Forces day has become a firm date in our diary over the last few years. It’s a different feel to Remembrance Day and is more of a celebration of our forces rather than in remembrance.

"As always, NECG is honoured to sponsor the band and steward the event in partnership with our veterans and cadet groups; Newton Rugby Club are always a big help.

"We hope people can join us for the parade on the High Street at 11 and then join us in Willow Park for the National Anthem before supporting local businesses along the high street.”
