POLICE officers suffered homophobic abuse while out on patrol, the force has said.
The incident happened in Rainhill on Monday, with the suspect - who was known to police - running away from the scene.
This morning officers say a 15-year-old boy "got a wake-up call" when he was arrested at 7am in connection with the abuse.
He was also being sought in connection with alleged offences, including attempted robbery, assault and racially aggravated assault.
