A MAN was taken to hospital with facial injuries after he was assaulted in the toilets at a village music festival.
Police were called to reports of the attack at Rainford Picnic in the Park on Saturday evening, June 11.
The assault is believed to have happened in the toilets during the event at Jubilee Recreation Ground on Church Road, Rainford.
The victim suffered several injuries to his face, police said.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "At around 7.30pm on Saturday, June 11, officers were called to a report of an assault at Rainford Picnic in the Park, Jubilee Recreation Ground on Church road.
"A man was taken to hospital with several injuries to his face after it was reported that he was assaulted by a man in the toilets of the festival.
"Officers have carried out witness inquiries in the area and an investigation is underway."
