A BEAUTY therapy business which submitted plans to expand its premises has been granted permission.
A planning application was sent to St Helens Council by Jamie Leicester, of Rebalance Therapy & Training Centre, on Barrow Street in the town centre, earlier this year.
The plans sought a change of use of a ground floor flat to a holistic and beauty treatment centre.
The application was to “change the use of Flat 18A Barrow Street from residential to commercial as was previously used in order to extend the business premises of 18 Barrow Street and Rebalance Therapy & Training Centre who occupy the premises.
“The work involved would be creating a single doorway connecting the business at 18 Barrow Street to flat 18B at the rear of the business”.
It added that it is proposed there will be three full-time employees at the business after the conversion.
Recommending the plans for approval, case officer Alex Ball said in a report: "It is not considered that the development will cause any significant harm to nearby commercial and residential units given the nature of the development".
It added: "Considering the location of the unit within the town centre, would be well located for customers to travel by public transport, and is likely to be combined with visits to other shops/services within the town centre".
Planning permission was granted.
