THE HOUSE OF GLAM had a successful opening day as it made its debut at the new location.

The salon recently made the move onto the Newton-le-Willows high street and officially celebrated its opening on Sunday, with music and fizz awaiting welcomers.

Lily Cooper, owner of The House of Glam, said: "I was really made up with the turnout – I didn’t expect that many people. It was brilliant.

“A few of my friends came and then clients came around. I think when the buzz started to happen, people would wonder ‘oh what’s going on in here’ and then come in and wanted a price list.

“It’s been a really successful weekend."

The salon prematurely opened its doors on Saturday for the high street's jubilee celebrations and offered face painting for children.

The 24-year-old added: "We were open for a few hours on Saturday for the jubilee, we had so much to do and it was still like a building site on Saturday afternoon.

"I was there until 3pm doing all the face paintings for the children - that was a great hit, they were all made up with that."

Lily received a warm welcome from her neighbours with other businesses on the high street coming to support her.

The salon had its first day of business at the new location yesterday.
