ST HELENS Council say that the bin collections over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend will remain unchanged.

With the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend taking place from Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5, street parties scheduled to take place throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

However St Helens Council has said that all the waste and recycling days will remain unchanged over that period.

A spokesperson for the council said: “All waste and recycling collection days will be unchanged during the Jubilee bank holidays.

“Please recycle as much of your waste and save any extra recycling for your next scheduled weekly collection.

“If you are having a street party as part of the national celebrations, please ensure any of the extra recycling and waste generated during this period is presented on your next recycling collection.

“Residents with additional recycling should separate the items by type and place glass in a separate box, bundle cardboard and use clear sacks for extra paper, cans and plastic.

“Alternatively, you can take it to your local Household Waste & Recycling Centre.

“If you are due a bin collection on either Thursday, June 2 or Friday, June 3, please have your bins and recycling containers out for collection from 6.30am as your collection time may change to help us accommodate collections in areas with road closures due to Jubilee celebrations.”
