A MAN has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery at Sherdley Park in which a woman was grabbed from behind and an attempt was made to pull her into nearby woodland.
Detective investigating the incident at the park on Friday, May 20 have arrested a man from St Helens.
A 35-year-old woman was running near to the golf driving range at about 1.45pm when a man grabbed her from behind and tried to pull her into nearby woodland.

The woman resisted and it is believed that when he spotted another woman walking nearby he released the woman and demanded money. She told him she had no money and he walked off towards the golf club.
A 21-year-old man from St Helens was arrested on Monday, May 23, on suspicion of attempted robbery and has been taken into custody for questioning.
