THE British Disability Darts Association brought an annual tournament to a St Helens venue for the first time.

The Winmau Open and Classic was held at the SIDAC Sports and Social Club in Sutton Leach in April.

There were standing and wheelchair eventys held, with winners for the 'Classic' and 'Open' formats, with four finals held altogether.

Darren Kennish triumphed in both wheelchair events.

Tournament director Sarah Smale said: “It has been a great weekend, the venue was perfect and we cannot thank Ableworld enough for their sponsorship of the event. I really hope we can make this the host venue for this annual event” A special thanks to SIDAC for hosting and to Ghost Girl Photography for her coverage of the event.

The event was sponsored by Ableworld, a St Helens-based mobility specialist.
