A MAN caught with drugs in his possession who assaulted a police officer has been fined.
Dion Holland, 26, appeared at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates’ Court.
Holland indicated guilty pleas to having in his possession three pieces of cannabis and four 10 mg tablets and a small bag of Diazepam, a controlled Class C drug, in St Helens.
He also admitted to assault by beating of a police officer.
He committed the offences of July 25, 2020.
Holland, of Lindean Close, Bolton, was fined £200 for the assault and also made to pay compensation of £200.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, making a total to be paid of £485.
He was given no separate penalties for the drugs offences.
His guilty pleas were taken into consideration upon sentencing and the court ordered for the cannabis and Diazepam to be forfeited and destroyed.
