POLICE have urged people to park "considerately" near to schools in St Helens after officers attended one which had seen "recent issues".

Officers were at St Bartholomew's Primary School in School Lane, Rainhill, on Wednesday afternoon, May 4.

They engaged with staff and members of the public after recent issues over parking had been raised.

In a statement, officers said: "Officers from St Helens Local Policing team have today attended St Bartholomew's Catholic Primary school in Rainhill.

"Due to recent issues with parking, officers have been on hand to engage with staff and the public, and to make sure the children are safe.

"Please be considerate when parking near schools."
