FC ST HELENS have been crowned Cheshire Football League Premier League Champions for 2021/22.
The side, whose home ground is at the redeveloped site at Windleshaw Sports in Dentons Green, secured the title with a 5-0 win over Whalley Bridge last Tuesday.
It is a huge achievement for the outfit, with the open-age team only formed in 2014 The success is, however, due to them as they missed out on title last season due to covid and the league being scrapped.
They are now awaiting a decision on their application to join North West Counties for the 2022/23 season.
A delighted chairman Steve Leather said: “Huge congratulations to everyone at FC St Helens for your efforts and really putting this club on the map.
“An incredible effort and dedication from each and every one of you.
“Words cannot explain my immense pride I am feeling right at this moment.
“You deserve it all.
“What a journey! Cheshire Football League Premier League Champions 2021/22.”
