THIS is the moment a St Helens resident was told she had won more than £100,000 live on air.

Emma Mara, from Haresfinch, was the recipent of an incredible £105,000 on Radio City’s Cash Register competition.

Emma was at work in a St Helens estate agents when she got the life-changing call from Radio City’s Hattie Pearson.

When Emma found out she’d won, she was noticeably lost for words.

Once reassured the call was genuine, she told Hattie: “I was going teetotal for April, but a bottle of Prosecco is getting opened tonight!”

Emma said she hasn’t been on holiday for 10 years so that has gone straight to the top of her list.

She was in the office when the call came through and she couldn’t believe that she had won the prize, asking if the call was a prank.

She added she couldn’t wait to tell her mum and her sister and all the girls in the office were screaming with delight for her.

Leanne and Scott, from Radio City’s Breakfast show, added: “We love it when our listeners win big life-changing amounts of money. We genuinely couldn’t be happier for Emma. She’s such a deserving winner, it’s great that the Cash Register is going to help change her life for the better.”
