A SAINTS fan from Scotland who was diagnosed with terminal cancer got to have his wish of meeting some of the players come true.

Hugh Stewart, 66, has been having treatment cancer in the bowel and liver for around two years.

However, he recently received the news that the cancer was terminal.

The Star reported last week that on his bucket list of things he would like to do is his wish to meet some of the Saints players, which he said would be “a massive honour”.

He attended the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday night to see Saints take on Warrington Wolves.

Not only did Hugh see Saints rack up an impressive 28-2 win over their rivals but he got to meet several of the players and head coach Kristian Woolf.

“Hugh is going home a very happy man” said Karen.

“We met Kristian Woolf, Tommy Makinson, Kyle Amor and James Roby because Andy Reid brought us up to the Players’ Lounge.

“Hugh was elated and couldn't sleep on Friday he was so made up.”

Karen said: “The more the years have gone by, the more he’s got into them. He knows all the team and he’s just amazing, and he’s a really lovely man.”

Hugh has also been invited to the Players’ Lounge for his next visit to Saints when they take on Hull KR in June.
